2019 Community Health Needs Assessment

The Mount Washington Valley Community Health Needs Assessment is a dynamic public private partnership that compiles data, engages and activates our community to discuss the data, and build plans to address our most pressing health needs. We invite you to join us in this conversation so that together, we can become the healthiest county and state in the nation.

Your input matters and we would like to invite you to attend this public forum at The Red Jacket Mountain View Resort on Wednesday, November 14th between 3:00-5:00pm. Light refreshments will be served.

Why do we conduct Community Health Needs Assessments? Per federal IRS regulations, not-for-profit hospitals are required to conduct community health needs assessments in three-year cycles.  MaineHealth hospitals' first cycle was for fiscal years 2013-2015 (more specifically, for October 2012-September 2015).

Each report:

  • Provides county-level data on more than 150 health measures – such as rates for smoking, substance abuse, obesity, high blood pressure and childhood immunizations.
  • Summarizes conversations by diverse community stakeholders, who reviewed the data for their county and shared ideas to address pressing health needs.
  • Offers a detailed, three-year action plan developed by each MaineHealth hospital member for improving public health in the communities we serve.

Annual progress reports about health improvement actions implemented are also provided.
