Diabetes Prevention Program - LRC 002
The National Diabetes Prevention Program is a CDC-led initiative that teaches lifestyle changes to prevent type 2 diabetes.
Click here to see if you may be at risk for prediabetes. Please note: This program is not designed for people who have already been diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes.
The Diabetes Prevention Program will help you:
- Learn how to eat healthier, be more physically active and manage stress
- Develop skills to make healthier choices to lose weight
- Get the long-term support you need to stick with the changes
The Diabetes Prevention Program meets for one year: once a week for 16 weeks, then bi-monthly or monthly for the rest of the year. A trained Lifestyle Coach will provide guidance and encouragement throughout the program. Classes are one-hour, and will be held at the same time each week. This class will be taught both in-person, and online, so you can attend most of the classes from the comfort of your own home.
The class begins on Tuesday September 11, 2018 at 5:00 PM, and in-person classes will meet at the Learning Resource Center in Falmouth.
