Works on Wellness Changes Coming

Important WOW! Update

MaineHealth Works on Wellness (WOW!) has been offering employee health & wellbeing programs since 2004. We are excited to share some exciting changes coming in April. We will be partnering with Virgin Pulse to provide a new online platform to support employee health and wellbeing resources in a convenient and informative way. There will be opportunities for team challenges, health tips and much more.

Please note, as of March 31, 2018, employees and covered spouses/partners will no longer have access to WebMD as this service is not needed given the new platform. You will be able to retrieve your health risk assessment records prior to March 31 through WebMD, and if you choose not to retrieve, WebMD will permanently and securely delete your information.


Registered WebMD users can expect to receive an email with additional information. For questions on this please visit WebMD Health Manager or contact WebMD at 1-888-258-4338.


WebMD Frequently Asked Questions 

Q:  When will the WebMD/MaineHealth collaboration terminate?

A:  MaineHealth will be partnering with a new vendor to support employee health & wellbeing. Because of this transition, as of March 31st, 2018, employees and covered spouses/domestic partners will no longer have access to WebMD.


Q:  Will I be able to retrieve my health data currently stored in WebMD?  

A:   Yes.  If you would like to retrieve any information on WebMD by March 31st, please follow the steps below:


For your WebMD WOW! Health Assessment (HA):

  • Step 1: Click on the “Healthy Living” tab and then select “WOW! Health Assessment”
  • Step 2: Click on the down arrow next to “Print Reports” and select the reports you would like to print

For your WebMD Primary Health Record (PHR):

  • Step 1: Click on the “Health Record” tab and then select “Health Record Home”
  • Step 2: Click on the blue button next to “Download My Data” and select the “Detailed PHR Report” in plain text or PDF format
  • Step 3: Select the reports you would like to print by checking or unchecking the boxes next to each report. Once you’ve made your selections, click on “View Report”  

Q:  What will happen to my data stored in WebMD after the March 31, 2018 retrieval deadline?

A:  WebMD will permanently and securely delete all of your information. You have an opportunity to retrieve a copy of your records through March 31, 2018. If you have questions about the secure deletion of your records, you may contact WebMD customer service at 1-888-258-4338.


Q:  I missed the March 31, 2018 deadline. Can I still obtain a copy of my records with WebMD?

A:  After March 31, 2018, you are no longer able to obtain a copy of your records from WebMD. 


Q:  Will MaineHealth be partnering with a new vendor to support employee Health and Wellbeing Programs? 

A:  MaineHealth will be partnering with Virgin Pulse to provide a new online platform to support employee health & wellbeing.  More detailed information will be provided to employees in April.


Q:   Will my data that is currently in WebMD be sent to Virgin Pulse?

A:  Your data will not be transferred to Virgin Pulse.


Q:  Will I be able to add my information that I retrieved from WebMD to Virgin Pulse?

A:   You will not be able to add your WebMD information to your account with Virgin Pulse. More information about Virgin Pulse will be communicated to employees in April.   


Q:  I am having technical difficulties retrieving my information from WebMD, who can assist me?

A:  If you are experiencing technical difficulties, please contact WebMD customer service at 1-888-258-4338.


Q:  Does WebMD going away mean that there is no longer a WOW! Rewards program? 

A:  Employee health and wellbeing is a priority for MaineHealth and we are excited to share how these programs will look in the near future. You can expect more detailed information to be communicated in April.  


Q:  How do I know that my information has been securely deleted?

A:  WebMD has stringent guidelines for the secure and permanent deletion of personal health information which they must follow.
