Stephanie Schroder, Med Support ATS

Meet Stephanie

Stephanie Schroder and Pris PaulA solid team of Administrative Team Specialists (ATS) is critical to the smooth operation of our community offices. They’re relied upon to greet clients, process paperwork, prepare charts, answer phones, juggle clinician schedules and generally keeping order so we can focus on the care of those we serve. We’re very fortunate to have so many dedicated employees in this role and are pleased to highlight one such individual who has consistently gone above and beyond the call of duty. For the past several months, Stephanie Schroder, med support ATS at our Biddeford office, has demonstrated remarkable flexibility by lending a hand at our offices in Portland, Norway and Springvale.

In Portland she is training other ATS in an improved med support model being used in Biddeford and Springvale. With the new model, each ATS are responsible for supporting a group of specific doctors versus the current model where they support all of them. It’s a great way to develop a truly team-based approach to care.

Even though she’s only been on the job for two years, Stephanie has quickly become an employee recognized for her expertise, thoughtfulness and initiative. In addition to her work in Portland, she has volunteered to cover the Norway office and train new staff, even though the extra travel may mean she’s working a 12-hour day!

“My favorite part of this job is helping the clients my doctors support,” explained Stephanie. “Sometimes they call when they need a medication renewal, but other times they call just when they’re feeling down and have had a hard day.” Stephanie recalled earning the trust of one woman who came in for an evaluation and brought along her young child. “Her daughter was screaming during the eval, so I brought her coloring supplies and a My Little Pony coloring book, and she calmed down. Her mother and I connected over that and now she calls me for everything.”

Paula Taylor, Director of Practice Management, praised Stephanie for her willingness to go the extra mile for both clients and staff. “She has such a wonderful, positive attitude. Always thinking ahead to what needs to be done. I wish I could clone her.”

Those sentiments are also shared by Practice Managers Pris Paul in Portland and Denise Day, Biddeford and Springvale. “She’s just the best and we’re so lucky to have her,” said Denise.

Stephanie believes that making sure that all the ATS teams are fully staffed and assisting to implement the new support model is well worth the effort of extra travel, as will help all of our offices provide the best care possible. “It can be tough to be away, but I like visiting different locations and meeting new people. We all get along so great. We’re like a family.”
