Healthy Aging Programs
Growing older brings some natural changes but people who see good years ahead and don’t accept stereotypes may actually live longer and more productively. Memorial Hospital embarked on an initiative in 2016 to debunk the myth that aging is negative and to help promote healthy lifestyles. We based it on the idea that it is not too late to make positive changes and you can make a difference in the rest of your life. Every step towards good health counts.
In a society where youth is idolized normal aging often has a negative connotation. However, aging is not a disease and healthy aging is an attitude. Although most of us do not want to think of ourselves as getting older over 43% of our population will be over 65 by 2030. So what will those upcoming years be like—will they be vigorous and healthy be restricted by physical limitation or conditions? Much of that choice is up to you.
Memorial Hospital offers a variety of programs and classes in a supportive environment taught by trained professional staff to help you achieve you goals.
