The Memorial Hospital Sleep Center provides diagnostic evaluation for OSA (obstructive sleep apnea)- a condition in which a patient stops breathing during sleep, causing them to wake repeatedly during the night. OSA has been linked to conditions such as obesity, hypertension, diabetes, cardiac disease, and stroke, so proper diagnosis and immediate treatments are extremely important. Evaluation in our Sleep Center may also help identify movement disorders such as seizure disorders, restless legs, muscle twitching, etc.
We perform therapeutic studies that involve CPAP (Continuous Positive Airway Pressure) via mask, thus allowing us to provide treatment for patients who demonstrate OSA the same night the diagnosis is made.
An acclimation session may be scheduled for anyone determined to require CPAP. This involves bringing your CPAP unit to the Center for a session for proper mask fitting and equipment maintenance training, as well as to answer any questions you might have regarding this therapy. Memorial will make every attempt to schedule this additional evaluation at your convenience.
Patients are scheduled by primary care provider referral only. Your doctor needs to provide a completed Memorial Hospital Sleep Center Referral Form, your recent medical history and a Sleep Center Patient History Intake Form.
Patients should call for scheduling.
