Will the fast-changing healthcare environment impact the care delivered at Stephens Memorial Hospital?
Come join us on Wednesday, June 28th and learn more.
The changes in healthcare are accelerating. In addition to the ongoing public policy debate, new technology and evolving best practices in medicine are having a big impact on local health systems like Western Maine Health Care Corporation, which includes, Stephens Memorial Hospital.
In recent months, Western Maine Health, and other members of MaineHealth have been discussing working more closely under a unified model to better meet the challenges that lie ahead.
The leadership of Western Maine Health would like to invite members of our community to discuss what it would mean if Stephens Memorial Hospital and other members of the MaineHealth family operated under a system-wide budget overseen by single Board of Trustees.
This proposed model would leave in place a local board overseeing the care provided here in our community, but leveraging the resources of the $2.4 billion MaineHealth system to support our mission would also require giving up a measure of local control.
We want to know what you think about that. So, please, join us at a special community forum on MaineHealth system unification scheduled for Wednesday, June 28th from 5:00 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. in the Harper Conference Center (193 Main Street, Norway).
During this forum, we will take some time to explain the changes we have been discussing over the past six months and provide an opportunity for you to engage in a conversation with leaders from our organization. We hope you’ll join us for this important community conversation.
