South Portland, ME (March 30, 2018): Maine Behavioral Healthcare will present Kelli Deveaux, Westbrook High School Principal, with a Heart of Gold award at the 13th Annual Heroes with Heart celebration to be held April 5th at the Holiday Inn by the Bay, Portland from 5:30 to 8 PM.

Deveaux will be recognized for her leadership and support demonstrated last fall when the community experienced several tragic losses, most recently to the heartbreak of suicide. Throughout this difficult and challenging time Deveaux showed remarkable compassion, and provided a foundation of support to the students and staff.

“My staff is an incredibly resilient and dedicated group of professionals, who have repeatedly risen to the challenge of loss, well before I got to Westbrook,” said Deveaux. “They deserve the credit for their heartfelt support of our students during repeated deaths this school year setting aside their own grief.”

Maine Behavioral Healthcare is proud to recognize Deveaux for serving as a role model and providing critical support to families, students and teachers during the notification and grieving process.
