NORTH CONWAY, NH – Memorial Hospital recently announced the promotion of Melody Nester to Development Director.
Nester joined the hospital’s Community Relations and Development department in January 2017 as Communications and Development Manager, where she assisted with grants and appeals, marketing and community relations efforts, plus played an integral role in organizing three golf tournaments.
Nester has over 30 years of non-profit work experience. Prior to joining Memorial Hospital, she served as Assistant Director for the Mt. Washington Valley Chamber of Commerce, Capital Campaign Administrator for Mount Washington Observatory, Director of Marketing and Development for The Children's Museum of Portsmouth and Assistant Director of Development for NH Catholic Charities.
She is a member of the Association for Fundraising Professionals, a trustee of Pequawket Foundation and the vice president of the Mt. Washington Valley Skating Club. She is a past founding member of Mt. Washington Valley Green Team and past founding president of the Seacoast’s Advocates for North Mill Pond which won a visionary award.
“I am very excited to work with Melody on development projects,” said Memorial Hospital president, Art Mathisen. “Her well-rounded background in development and her strong ties to the community are sure to strengthen the philanthropy efforts at the hospital.”
As Development Director, Nester now oversees donor relations, in addition to developing financial support for the organization through the Memorial Hospital Foundation.
“There is so much good being done at Memorial Hospital to benefit our patients and members of community that people don’t realize,” said Nester. “I am excited to celebrate and rally support for all these beneficial programs and I look forward to working with members of the community to build a strong development program. I hope to expand programs that fulfill our mission to provide excellent compassionate, comprehensive, quality health care to our neighbors and friends along with our visitors, here in our valley.”
