Cardiovascular Disease

I grew up in a large family in Massachusetts and went to medical school at Boston University. My residency training  took me to San Francisco at the University of California,  and back to Boston at the Peter Bent Brigham Hospital (now Brigham and Women’s Hospital). After three years of cardiology fellowship at the University of Massachusetts, I moved to Portland where I have happily practiced since 1983. I entered the field of electrophysiology (rhythm management) in its infancy and have been gratified to participate in a field which has been completely revolutionized since that time.

I now focus primarily on rhythm disorders of the heart and have a special interest in complex device management including pacemakers, defibrillators and lead extractions. I have always enjoyed caring for patients from all over Maine and currently spend time both in Portland and at Maine General Hospital in Augusta. It has been an immense privilege to  work, live and raise a family in Maine.
