Biography

I have been the Chief of Psychiatry at Maine Medical Center, the SVP for Medical and Clinical Affairs at Maine Behavioral Healthcare and Chief Medical Officer at Spring Harbor Hospital. Today, amidst the opiate crisis, I have taken on a new role as clinical lead for the MaineHealth Behavioral Health Service Line and on the Opioid Task Force teams.

As a Professor of Psychiatry at Tufts University School of Medicine, I also supervise and teach in the MMC Psychiatry Residency Program. I graduated from Ohio Wesleyan University and completed medical school at SUNY’s Buffalo School of Medicine, then completing my psychiatry residency and child psychiatry fellowship at New York Hospital.

Other roles with distinction include Assistant Director of the Training Program, Medical Director for Inpatient Psychiatric Service, and Chair of the Department of Psychiatry. During my time as chair, I spearheaded a number of clinical, academic and research initiatives that established MBH among the most recognized behavioral health organizations in the country.
