Home Health Care in the Community
As part of the mission of MaineHealth Care at Home, community health nurses offer low-cost flu prevention, health screening clinics, diabetes education and other wellness services at locations throughout the community. Community health nurses can provide both education and preventive care to improve community health.
The flu is a contagious disease that spreads throughout Maine every winter, usually between October and May. It is spread mainly by coughing, sneezing and close contact. Flu vaccinations are the best protection against the flu. MaineHealth Care at Home provides vaccinations through public clinics throughout the service area. Employers can arrange for private clinics at worksites. Click here for our list of 2018 Public Flu Shot Clinics.
MaineHealth Care at Home offers foot clinic sites in Cumberland and York counties. Proper foot care is essential for walking and fall prevention. Our nurses perform skilled foot assessments as well as nail cutting. See our 2018 Calendar of Foot Clinics to find care near you.
