Myron McLellan

On Super Bowl Sunday (February 4, 2018), Myron McLellan began to feel increasingly unwell. His wife, Barbara, called an ambulance as well as his granddaughter Sarah, who is a registered nurse. The Boothbay Region Ambulance Service transported Myron to the LincolnHealth – Miles Campus in nearby Damariscotta. LincolnHealth staff quickly determined that he was having an aortic aneurism and needed immediate surgery.

Once stabilized by the LincolnHealth ER team, he was rushed to Maine Medical Center who operated right away. Within a few hours he was awake, and doctors were amazed at his “near miss.”

A lifelong fisherman who has since “retired,” Myron was curious to know when he could get home and continue repairing his fishing nets. With his health restored and a follow up care plan from his primary care providers at Lincoln Medical Partners Family Care Center in Boothbay Harbor, Myron was able to return home in short order and get back to the people and the work he loves.

Myron and Barbara have been married for 70 years, have 5 children, 12 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Thanks to the rapid response and expertise of both LincolnHealth and Maine Medical Center, he will be around to enjoy his family and his work for many days to come.
