Finding the Cause of Back and Neck Pain

Effective treatment of back pain and neck pain depends on finding the cause. Patients will be asked to give a full medical history and undergo a physical exam, so we can determine the reason for your back pain and neck pain. Patients also may have screening tests, such as an X-ray or MRI.

Ongoing back pain can be a pulled muscle or something more serious, especially if it lasts more than a month or two. Common back problems include:
