Laboratory Services at Stephens Memorial Hospital

Stephens Memorial Hospital's lab is run by NorDx. NorDx is a not-for-profit clinical laboratory based in Scarborough, Maine. Established in 1976 as the first licensed independent laboratory in Maine, NorDx has grown to provide comprehensive, dependable, quality laboratory services to hospitals, physicians, long-term care providers, other laboratories and health care organizations throughout Northern New England. NorDx is a member of MaineHealth, a recognized healthcare leader in New England and Maine's largest integrated healthcare system.

The laboratory at Stephens Memorial Hospital is accredited by the College of American Pathologists and is dedicated to providing timely, high quality results and exceptional customer service. Our laboratory services are available 24/7, including Saturday morning hours for blood drawing.

Our laboratory offers comprehensive lab services. We provide a broad range of tests including: chemistry, coagulation, hematology, transfusion medicine, body fluid analysis, urinalysis, and microbiology.

NorDx Labs will send results to your provider, who will explain the findings to you. Providers trust in our full-service labs to meet all of their patient needs. You will be billed for your lab services through Stephens Memorial Hospital.

Laboratory Hours:

Monday - Friday: 7:00 am - 6:00 pm
Saturday: 7:30 am - 12:00 pm

Pathology Services at Stephens Memorial Hospital

The Pathology department is staffed by board certified Pathologists, a cytotechnologist, and histology assistants. We provide a wide range of anatomic pathology and cytology services, including tissue processing, special stains, and frozen section service. All supporting a comprehensive range of testing, diagnosis, and care covered by the field of pathology.

Local Artist Supports SMH Food Pantry

South Paris community member and folk artist, Linda Richardson, recently presented Stephens Memorial Hospital Food Pantry with a gift of $1,200 to benefit the MaineHealth Food Pantry at Stephens Memorial Hospital.
