Born at 23 weeks, Adam spent the first 13 months of his life hospitalized. He needed a G-tube for feeding and a tracheostomy or “trach” to breathe, but between the NICU and the PICU at MaineHealth Barbara Bush Children’s Hospital (MHBBCH), Adam has a lot of friends cheering him on. Now five years old, Adam had needed dozens of surgeries, but his mom, Jordan, explains that while Adam has had setbacks, he’s also made huge strides. Adam started kindergarten this past fall, and he absolutely loves school and all the new friends he’s made.
