Henry stopped growing in utero, and had to be delivered early, at 27 weeks. Unsure if he’d survive, Henry’s parents prepared for the worst- but when he arrived breathing on his own and crying, his fighting spirit gave them hope. Henry spent 5 months in the NICU at MaineHealth Barbara Bush Children’s Hospital before he was able to go home, but still needed 24/7 supplemental oxygen and a G-tube for feeding. Today, at two years old, Henry has weaned off his oxygen and was able to have his G-tube removed because he’s eating on his own! Now he only has to worry about trying to keep up with his big sister, Amelia!
