While Kaileigh was born early and spent time in the NICU at MaineHealth Barbara Bush Children’s Hospital (MHBBCH), it wasn’t until she was two years old that she began experiencing gastrointestinal issues requiring hospitalization. Kaileigh has become a “frequent flier” at MHBBCH, receiving care for her multiple diagnoses, including Crohn’s Disease. Twelve-year-old Kaileigh also “flies” for her cheerleading team, and hopes to become a pediatric oncology nurse when she grows up, so that she can help other kids.
