Our expert team works closely with MaineGeneral’s Harold Alfond Center for Cancer Care in Augusta to coordinate patient care. This longstanding partnership helps patients and families navigate available cancer treatment options and providers – resulting in faster care referrals and better care coordination.

Our team is committed to providing patient-centered oncology and hematology care, close to home. We focus on patients and their loved ones - providing guidance, education and assistance, every step of the way. All providers are affiliated with the Harold Alfond Center for Cancer Care. 

At MaineHealth Franklin Hospital Cancer Care

Newly-diagnosed patients start here, where specially-trained nurse practitioners provide office visits Monday through Thursday. Our cancer care team members are in daily contact with board-certified oncologists and hematologists at the Harold Alfond Center for Cancer Care to discuss each patient and their ongoing care. Chemotherapy- and biotherapy-certified registered nurses administer services such as:

  • Chemotherapy
  • Biotherapy
  • Home chemotherapy surveillance
  • Intravenous fluids administration
  • Blood product transfusion
  • Hematologic medication administration

At the Harold Alfond Center for Cancer Care

Patients meet with MaineHealth medical oncologists/hematologists to discuss their treatment plans, progress and recommended follow-up care at MaineHealth Franklin Hospital Cancer Care.

IV Therapy| Infusion Services

MaineHealth Franklin Hospital Cancer Care and IV Therapy offers convenient outpatient care for patients who need frequent infusions, injections and other specialty services. Our experienced team of registered nurses provides compassionate care for people who need:

  • Chemotherapy and other infusions
  • Injections
  • Port flushes
  • Blood transfusions
  • Intravenous (IV) therapy for autoimmune disorders such as rheumatoid arthritis, MS and Crohn’s disease
  • Specialized intravenous medications including Remicade and Prolastin\
  • Intravenous antibiotics
  • Anemia therapy
  • Central line care (port-a-cath, PICC, and Hickman)
  • Surgical and wound dressing changes
  • Catheterization
  • Colostomy care and education
