Accepting new patients
We are accepting new patients. To make an appointment, please call 207-778-6394. We offer 24-hour call coverage when the office is closed, including weekends and holidays. To reach the doctor on call when the office is closed, call 207-778-6031 and ask for the provider on call.
Prescription Refills
Please contact us at least 48 hours before you will need to have prescriptions refilled.
Appointment Policy
If you are unable to make your appointment, 24-hour advance notice is appreciated whenever possible. This allows us to open up that time for another patient needing care.
Emergencies
In an extreme emergency, such as loss of consciousness, chest pain, severe breathing problems, or major bleeding, please dial 911. Do not delay emergency care by calling our office or the hospital. Afterward, if necessary, call your physician for further advice and coordination of your emergency care.
Six to seven percent of pregnancies are complicated by the development of pregnancy-related (gestational) diabetes. This condition has consequences for both mother and baby including: large babies, a risk of the baby needing IV support after delivery, and increased chance that the birth-parent will develop diabetes later in life.
MaineHealth Obstetrics and Gynecology offers expert care for both gestational diabetes and people who already have diabetes and become pregnant. Services include physician care, nutrition counseling, and diabetes education in one convenient appointment.
Group pregnancy visits are facilitated by a certified nurse midwife and a nurse. During a group pregnancy visit, you will be seen with several other pregnant people whose due dates are close to yours. The groups form around 16 weeks of pregnancy and last for 10 sessions.
At each visit, you will have a private examination with your health care provider. Then you’ll have refreshments and meet as a group to discuss questions, concerns, and solutions. Each pregnant person is encouraged to bring their partner or another support person.
Being able to meet together with the same group of expectant parents allows for continued sharing and development of a support network, which often extends well into the child rearing period.
