Curriculum

Our Categorical Diagnostic Radiology residency training is five years, composed of one clinical year of Internal Medicine, followed by four years of diagnostic radiology. Interns spend 2 months in the radiology department and have an additional elective month.

The 4-year diagnostic radiology curriculum consists of:

  • neuroradiology (16 weeks)
  • musculoskeletal radiology (12 weeks)
  • cardiothoracic radiology (12 weeks)
  • body MRI and GI/GU (12 weeks)
  • fluoroscopy (8 weeks)
  • breast radiology (12 weeks)
  • ultrasonography (12 weeks)
  • maternal fetal medicine/OB ultrasound (4 weeks)
  • nuclear medicine (16 weeks)
  • research and board preparation (8 weeks)
  • emergency radiology and late shift (20 weeks)
  • night float (13 weeks)
  • pediatric radiology at Boston Children's Hospital (13 weeks)
  • radiology pathology correlation course at the American Institute for Radiologic Pathology in Washington, D.C.(4 weeks)
  • elective/senior mini fellowship (28 weeks)
  • vacation (16 weeks)
