The MaineHealth Maine Medical Center Portland (MHMMCP) pharmacy residency program has a rich history of high-quality teaching programs. We have a total of nine residents each year and over 55 preceptors across our six PGY1 and PGY2 programs.
As a resident, you will have the opportunity to work and learn under the guidance of a diverse and highly experienced team of pharmacists, technicians, and administrators across acute and ambulatory care settings. More importantly, as a resident in our program, you become part of our MHMMCP pharmacy family.
A rich learning environment where pharmacy residents thrive
MHMMCP is committed to providing a learning environment where residents can thrive. Our small residency class size together with our dedicated faculty cultivate a welcoming community inclusive of everyone. The camaraderie between residents, providers and faculty is truly unique and a reason many of our residents and staff enjoy training and working at MHMMCP. You will rarely find a pharmacist without a pharmacy student, pharmacy resident, advanced practice provider resident, medical student, medical resident, or fellow by our side. Through our affiliation with Tufts University School of Medicine, we offer a unique clinical pharmacology elective for medical students and medical residents.
Portland, Maine offers a unique blend of coastal charm and vibrant city life, making it an ideal place to live and work. With its thriving food scene, walkable downtown, and access to stunning natural beauty—from beaches to mountains—residents enjoy a high quality of life year-round.
We are extremely proud of our pharmacist alumni who have gone on to further their training at additional training programs; become faculty and leaders; and secure positions at competitive institutions.
