Strike Out Cancer in Kids (SOCK) is a fundraising program that supports Maine Children's Cancer Program (MCCP), provider of comprehensive care to children with cancer and blood disorders in Maine and beyond. This special program is driven by the Portland Sea Dogs, along with local businesses and individual community members (like you!) who all have the same goal in mind: to defeat childhood cancer once and for all.
Thanks to the incredible support this program receives, Strike Out Cancer in Kids has raised vital funding and awareness for MCCP over the past 30 years. What makes this program extra special: each year, a patient is honored as a Slugger Kid, acting as a SOCK ambassador and enjoying a summer of baseball and fame.
