MaineHealth Home Health and Hospice provides a full range of high-quality, home-based health services. We care for patients of all ages in York, Cumberland, Southern Oxford, Knox, Waldo, Lincoln and Sagadahoc counties in Maine. We are part of the MaineHealth integrated health system.

Compassionate care from the comfort of home

Care is delivered by local teams that include professionally-trained nurses, physical and occupational therapists, speech language pathologists, home health aides, nutritional counselors and social workers. With advanced skills and expertise, our clinical team helps patients regain strength after surgery, injury or illness; manage chronic illness; age in place and achieve a higher quality of life. MaineHealth Home Health and Hospice provides care seven days a week—with 24/7 on-call services. We are a fully licensed 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization. View our services.

Patients have the right to choose their home care provider. When it is time to make home health care arrangements for you or your loved one, we hope you will place your trust in MaineHealth Home Health and Hospice

If you are not offered MaineHealth Home Health and Hospice as a choice for your home care, ask your provider for a referral to our organization. 

You may also file a complaint with the Maine Department of Health & Human Services. 

 

MaineHealth Home Health and Hospice maintains a comprehensive program for outcome-based quality improvement. This includes:

  • Participation in the National Outcome Based Quality Improvement Program
  • Collaboration with the Northeast Health Care Quality Foundation
  • Use of a comprehensive bench-marking service though Strategic Healthcare Programs
  • Contracting with NRC Picker, an industry leader in collecting and analyzing patient experience and satisfaction outcomes

  • Home Care & Hospice Alliance of Maine - A statewide association promoting education and advocacy for home care providers
  • National Association for Home Care  - A national association promoting education and advocacy for home care providers

Upon request, we can arrange in-service education for professional staff on topics such as:

  • Home health benefits and services
  • Eligibility and reimbursement programs
  • Wound care, telehealth, diabetes, rehab programs, post-operative joint replacement services and palliative care
