PORTLAND, Maine — Maine Medical Partners announces the following new hires.
Kellie A. Sprague, MD, has joined MaineHealth Cancer Care in South Portland as the new director of the hematologic malignancies program. She was most recently the director of the bone marrow and stem cell transplant program at Tufts Medical Center, Boston. She was also assistant professor of medicine, division of hematology-oncology, Tufts University School of Medicine. Dr. Sprague earned a medical degree from the University of Vermont College of Medicine, Burlington. She completed her clinical fellowships and residency at Tufts-New England Medical Center. She is Board certified in internal medicine, medical oncology and hematology. Dr. Sprague was also included in the 2021 Boston Magazine Top Doctors in Hematology.
Cecilia Trydestam MD, MS, FACS, has joined Maine Medical Partners – Surgical Care, in the division of general surgery. Dr. Trydestam is a general surgeon coming to us from rural Washington State. She attended medical school at Temple University School of Medicine in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and did her residency in general surgery at Maine Medical Center. While in Washington, she practiced broad-spectrum rural general surgery and worked as the medical director of trauma at Samaritan Hospital, and medical director of the Moses Lake Clinic for Confluence Health in Moses Lake, Washington. Dr. Trydestam enjoys maintaining a broad scope of practice and will be working in the Lewiston/Auburn area to allow the community to stay local for surgical care.
Rebecca Eisenberg, MD, has joined MaineHealth Cancer Care in Sanford. She mostly recently served as medical director at Frisbie Memorial Hospital, Center for Cancer Care, Rochester, New Hampshire. Prior to that, she was medical director at Hallmark Health Cancer Center, Stoneham, Massachusetts. She is Board certified in hematology, medical oncology and internal medicine. She was a fellow at Tufts-New England Medical Center, Boston, and a resident at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center, Denver, Colorado. Dr. Eisenberg completed at her medical degree at New York University School of Medicine, New York.
Scott Chase, DO, has joined Maine Medical Partners – Standish Primary Care. Dr. Chase brings over 30 years of experience and service to the Maine community. He is Board certified in family practice. Dr. Chase completed his medical degree at the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine and his residency at Brighton Medical Center. He also devotes his time to teaching and volunteering.
Laura Houk, MD, has joined Maine Medical Partners – Dermatology. Prior to joining the team at Maine Medical Partners, Dr. Houk was ambulatory physician lead and physician quality officer of the department of dermatology at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center. After graduating as valedictorian of her medical school class at Drexel University, Dr. Houk was chief resident for the department of dermatology and cutaneous biology at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia. She subsequently completed a fellowship in dermatopathology, also at Thomas Jefferson University. Dr. Houk has a strong interest in medical informatics and serves on the dermatology specialty steering board for Epic. In addition to caring for general dermatology patients, Dr. Houk sees patients with hair loss at Maine Medical Partners.
