PORTLAND, Maine – MaineHealth has hired Matthew Wolden as the new chief operating officer for MaineHealth Maine Medical Center Portland (MHMMC).
Wolden is an experienced health care leader who is currently the chief operating officer at University of California, San Francisco Health System’s St. Mary’s & Saint Francis Hospitals.
His previous roles with that system include Vice President, Core Operations & Senior Operations Executive for Integration; Vice President, Clinical Services and Vice President, Quality & Patient Safety, Administration. Wolden has also held leadership roles with Stanford Health Care, Stanford Children’s Health and with New York-Presbyterian, the University Hospital of Columbia and Cornell.
Wolden earned his Bachelor of Science in Health Ecology at the University of Nevada and his Master of Public Health from that college’s School of Public Health.
He will be responsible for helping drive operational excellence, effective planning, execution and performance at MHMMC Portland.
