North Conway, NH – MaineHealth Memorial Hospital is delighted to announce the arrival of its first baby of the year, born to Susy and Shawn Wilmot of Madison. The couple welcomed their son, Leland Wilmot, at 6:59 a.m. on January 2, 2025.
Leland weighed in at 7 pounds, 14 ounces, and measured 20 inches long. He was delivered by Dr. Lauren Frye, with the support of the dedicated staff at MaineHealth Memorial Hospital Family Birth Center.
Big sister Karlee is happy to welcome her baby brother to the family. The Wilmot family expressed their gratitude for the exceptional care provided by the Family Birth Center team.
MaineHealth Memorial Hospital continued its tradition of celebrating the first baby of the New Year with a generous basket of gifts for the family. Highlights included a handmade quilt from Gail’s Material Girls Quilters Group, gift bags from the hospital’s volunteers and medical staff, and assorted baby items from Zeb’s General Store.
The family also received two 2025 Storyland day passes, a t-shirt, and a sweatshirt, along with a limo ride from Sutton Luxury Limousine. Local businesses contributed dining gift certificates, including $25 vouchers for J-Town Deli, Joseph’s Spaghetti Shed, Horsefeathers, Christmas Farm Inn, Black Cap Grille, and Merlino’s Steak House, as well as $50 certificates for Big Dave’s Bagels, Elvio’s Pizzeria, Vito Marcello’s, Market Basket, and Hobb’s Tavern & Brewery, which also gifted a onesie. A Sunday brunch for two at the White Mountain Hotel Resort completed the package.
This annual tradition underscores the community’s generosity and celebrates the arrival of its newest member.
