Pen Bay Medical Center's lab is run by NorDx, a not-for-profit clinical laboratory based in Scarborough, Maine. Established in 1976 as the first licensed independent laboratory in Maine, NorDx has grown to provide comprehensive, dependable, quality laboratory services to hospitals, physicians, long-term care providers, other laboratories and health care organizations throughout Northern New England.
We are committed to supporting our partners in health care by providing superior quality and cost-effective laboratory services which emphasize customer satisfaction, value, innovation, technology, and exceptional service. We manage and execute all aspects of diagnostic analyses thoroughly, accurately and efficiently. Laboratory results are used in approximately 70% of decisions involved in the diagnosis, treatment and the prognosis of any given illness. Lab Tests
Lab tests are used as part of routine exams and to screen for specific conditions. Through NorDx, we offer a full range of testing services, whether you need blood work, a throat swab, your cholesterol checked or a thyroid test. Talk to your primary care provider if you think you need a lab test.
