How do I get my prescription filled at the pharmacy?

If you are a hospital or day surgery patient, let your nurse know you would like to fill your prescription. If you were treated in the emergency department and it is during regular business hours, come straight to the pharmacy upon discharge to fill your prescriptions. Please remember to bring your drug insurance card with you. We also accept walk-in prescriptions from the community at large.

Can the cost of my prescription be put on my hospital bill?

Prescriptions that are filled when you are being discharged cannot be added to your hospital bill.

Do you accept insurance?

We accept most prescription insurance plans. You are responsible for any co-payment at the time of pick up.

What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept cash, check, Visa/Mastercard.

How will I know when my prescriptions are ready?

We will call your hospital room or the day surgery unit when your prescription is ready, or call your name if you are in our waiting area.

What if I have refills?

Once you have filled your prescription, you may continue to have it refilled at the Pen Bay Medical Center pharmacy; or choose to have it transferred to a pharmacy of your choice.

Can someone else pick up my prescription for me?

If you are unable to pick up your prescriptions, you may have a friend or family member pick them up for you.

Can I speak with a pharmacist?

You can speak with a pharmacist when you pick up your prescription to discuss any questions you may have.
