  • Physician Assistant
Samuel F Gagnon

As a physician assistant in neuro oncology, my role is to extend care to patients with primary brain cancers as well as patients experiencing neurologic complications of other malignancies. I provide care as part of a team that includes a neuro oncologist and specialty trained staff and collaborate with other services such as neurosurgery, radiation oncology and medical oncology. I joined the neuro oncology program at MaineHealth after working for several years in general oncology at a small Maine hospital. I believe there is more to cancer care than medicines and try to expand my care to encompass not only the physical, but also emotional needs of my patients. In my free time, I enjoy sailing, restoring old tools and making things out of wood, metal, cloth and a host of other materials.
