Nurse Practitioner-Adult Health

Biography

Catherine has over 30 years in the nursing profession, with 20 of those years as a nurse practitioner. She has more recently enjoyed working closely with chronically obese clients for nearly a decade at The Maine Medical Center Weight & Wellness Program and is a Certified Health & Wellness Coach. She has found mindful eating techniques to be a powerful tool toward long term success. She also believes that mindfulness practices can help to free a person from unhealthy habits and improve the overall quality of life, which she regularly practices in her own life. In 2011 she obtained a certification as a Bariatric Nurse by the American Society for Metabolic & Bariatric Surgery and is a licensed facilitator for the award winning mindful eating program called “Am I Hungry”.

Catherine graduated from Simmons College in Boston with a ANCC as an Adult Nurse Practitioner. She is a recipient of the Alfred W. Dibbins, M.D. Award given by Residents of the Department of Surgery for ‘Distinguished Service and Commitment to Patient and Resident Education’. Catherine also received the 2013 Nursing Excellence Award for exceptional dedication, commitment, and leadership in providing compassionate and quality care.
