Alan F Riley

Dr. Riley’s clinical practice focuses on the outpatient and inpatient care of infants, children and adolescents with acquired and congenital heart disease. He serves as the Director of Congenital Cardiac Noninvasive Imaging and Echocardiography at Maine Health. Dr. Riley most recently practiced for more than a decade at Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston, TX. Amongst other roles, he was Associate Medical Director for the Acute Care Cardiology Inpatient Unit. His academic interests include developing and evaluating innovative uses of ultrasound to guide management of children and adults with heart disease. Dr. Riley is a medical educator who has developed and taught cardiac ultrasound curricula at multiple levels of medical education. He is a Fellow of the American Society of Echocardiography and the American Academy of Pediatrics. Native to Massachusetts, Dr. Riley enjoys spending time outdoors with his family.
