I love my job and seeing patients. My approach is to put myself in the patient’s position and ask what I would want for care. I listen carefully, outline the treatment choices, and make a plan of care in collaboration with the patient. I think of myself as a strong patient advocate.
Along with seeing babies and children, I am a specialist who sees adolescent and young adults up to age 25 years old. I believe in one-stop shopping for the multiple of patients. For the teen and young adult, I provide the care of a general physician, assess complex illness as a specialist, and provide specialty care for contraception, gynecology needs, substance use, eating disorders, mental health, and complex acne.
I also spend lots of time advocating for improving the health of the community. I work with schools, health care centers, and state and national pediatric organizations teaching and developing policies related to health.
With my wife, two children, and two dogs, I love to hike, ski, boat, and eat lots of lobster. If you are in Portland, you will likely see me out walking.
