The relationship between physician and patient is a sacred one. I always see my interaction with a patient as an active conversation, and I strive to involve each person in their own care. It is very important for me to take into account a patient’s functional needs, goals, and expectations. In this way, we are able to come to decisions together. This inevitably leads to patient empowerment, improved satisfaction, and better overall results. In my spare time, I enjoy anything outdoors, including hiking, camping, and skiing. My wife Callie and I love to cook, try new restaurants, and spend time with family whenever possible. Traveling, both for work and pleasure, is another passion of mine. I have spent time providing hand surgery services in both Bolivia and Bhutan, and plan to continue devoting a portion of my career to this type of work.
