Sophie L Woolston

I believe in treating all patients with respect. Typically, most patients see an infectious disease specialist during a complex medical issue, when they and their families are facing challenges. It is my goal to understand each of my patients; their history, their symptoms, and their concerns to arrive at a correct diagnosis. Each patient is unique, each patient's situation is unique as well, and we will work together to create a treatment plan that works best for the patient.

My clinical passion is treatment of infections in the immunocompromised host and in patients experiencing infections who also have cardiovascular medical problems.

I joined MaineHealth in 2020. I started the Cardiovascular Infectious disease clinic in 2020. I launched the Cardiovascular Infectious disease service in 2024, providing infectious disease care for patients with heart transplants, LVADs, cannulated on ECMO and other mechanical circulatory support devices.
