As a primary care pediatrician, I feel honored to be able to develop deep relationships with my patients and their parents. It's rewarding to be able to help parents get their children through difficult situations, or help teenagers navigate their own challenges. It's serious work, but we also get to laugh with children ever day. I think that helps us as much as the kids!
