Adult Inpatient Services
Spring Harbor Hospital devotes more than sixty beds to the treatment of adults who experience acute psychiatric illness and co-occurring chemical dependency. Our treatment program emphasizes return-to-work strategies and cognitive therapies to help patients make the smoothest possible transition from the hospital to the community in the shortest possible time.
Our caregiving team includes a psychiatrist, psychiatric nurses, social workers, and technicians who specialize in the treatment of major depression, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and co-occurring disorders . Average length of stay for adult patients is approximately seven days, and discharge planners assist in securing timely and appropriate aftercare services.
Adult rooms are private and semi-private rooms, featuring a private bath, wardrobe, writing desk, and views of the wooded grounds and recreational areas. Treatment areas provide designated rooms for family meetings and individual consultation between the physician and patient.
The well-maintained hospital grounds feature an adult courtyard with reflecting pool and gazebo designed for meditation, short strolls, and conversation. An indoor gym, fitness room, and walking paths provide recreational therapy.
