Hospital Medicine | MaineHealth Stephens Hospital

The MaineHealth Stephens Hospital Hospital Medicine team manages the care of patients admitted to our hospital. Our highly-experienced physicians serve as your primary care provider during your hospital stay. They will coordinate your care with other specialty care providers, and with your regular primary care provider.

Specializing in the care of patients in the hospital

Your hospitalist will talk with you and your family about your care and check in with you frequently during your hospital stay. Because they are always available onsite, hospitalists can explain and respond to your tests more quickly. After you are released from the hospital, your primary care doctor will take over your care. They will oversee any needed follow-up visits, prescriptions and tests.
