I am a trained bariatric surgeon and weight loss treatment specialist and the Medical Director of the Weight and Wellness Program at Maine Medical Center. My professional experience includes general, bariatric, and trauma surgery. I was previously the Medical Director of the Bariatric Surgery Programs at Blanchfield Army Community Hospital and Gateway Medical Center in Clarksville, TN.
I earned my bachelor’s degree in biology from the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Mass., and graduated with a doctorate in osteopathic medicine from the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine in Biddeford, ME. Following medical school, I served as an active duty army officer and surgeon. I have been deployed to both Afghanistan and Iraq acting as a trauma and acute care surgeon and also as the Chief of the Department of Surgery in Tallil, Iraq. After completing my army commitment I spent time in a private and group practice in Clarksville, TN as a bariatric and general surgeon. I have completed additional training programs for sleeve gastrectomy, revisional bariatric, LAP-BAND, REALIZE band, endoscopic, laparoscopic, and robotic surgery.
