Heart Disease Prevention Program

Cardiovascular care starts at the heart, but doesn’t stop there.

It’s designed to treat the entire cardiovascular system – the heart, arteries, and veins throughout your body. Whether you’re diagnosed with high blood pressure, heart murmur, irregular heartbeat, blocked carotid artery, or other cardiovascular conditions, MaineHealth cardiovascular specialists are here to help.

MaineHealth cardiovascular disease prevention services help people reduce their risk for atherosclerosis, also known as "hardening of the arteries." This condition causes fatty, waxy plaque deposit builds up on the walls of your blood vessels, which can lead to heart attacks, strokes, and peripheral circulation problems. Cardiac disease prevention services can also help people who have already experienced a heart event or surgery to avoid future heart issues.
