Pelvic Medicine & Reconstructive Surgery Program
Our bodies have what’s called a pelvic floor. In women, it’s the muscles and other tissues that support the bladder, uterus, vagina and rectum and the nerves that tell them how to function. For men, the floor supports the bladder, rectum and other pelvic organs. When these muscles, tissues and nerves become weak or damaged pelvic floor disorders happen.
Maine Medical Partners – Pelvic Medicine & Reconstructive Surgery Program is Maine’s most complete center for diagnosing and treating pelvic floor disorders, including incontinence (not able to control your bladder or bowels) and prolapse (when organs move down from their normal position). Our team of specialists provides expert, sensitive care.
While we gladly accept referrals from other doctors, you don’t need one to see a specialist at the Maine Medical Partners – Pelvic Medicine & Reconstructive Surgery Program.
Maine Medical Partners – Pelvic Medicine & Reconstructive Surgery Program also treats the following conditions:
- Painful bladder syndrome
- Recurrent urinary tract infections
- Urethral stricture
Our office hours are Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM. We understand that health concerns don’t always fit into regular hours. Our team is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. If the office is closed, our answering service will page the on call physician who will contact you as soon as possible. If you have an emergency, or feel you can’t wait for the on call physician to call you back, you should call 911.
