Center for Breast Care

SMHCBreastCenter

Women told us what they wanted. We listened.

When developing our Center for Breast Care, we talked with breast cancer survivors and asked them to tell us about their experiences and ultimately what they viewed as the best possible breast care. The result is SMHC’s Center for Breast Care – a breast care experience designed by women, for women.

  • Centralized care, from diagnosis and surgery to radiology and oncology, the SMHC Center for Breast Care offers a coordinated, multi-disciplinary approach to cancer care;
  • A personal guide to help you through the breast care experience;
  • A highly experienced breast care surgical specialist;
  • A Fellowship trained breast imaging Specialist using leading edge diagnostic technology;
  • Prompt answers, respect for privacy, and one-on-one attention;
  • A compassionate staff of top-notch medical professionals who specialize in breast care and take the time to listen;
  • A relaxed, friendly, comfortable atmosphere for the patient, family members or companions; and
  • The resources you need, when you want them.

You are not alone. Our team is there with you.

The team-oriented design of the SMHC Center for Breast Care enhances communication between the primary care physician, the radiologist, the surgeon, the medical oncologist, and the radiation oncologist – all with the patient at the center of the care circle. We’re with you each step of the way.

  • Helene Langley, RN, BS, CBCN, CN-BN Certified Breast Nurse Navigator

    Women told us they wanted a guide; someone compassionate enough to understand the physical and emotional issues and experienced enough to guide each patient on their way toward survivorship. Helene, SMHC’s Certified Patient Navigator, fills that role for you and your family. Whether concerns originate with a lump felt by a woman or her physician or from a suspicious finding as a result of a screening mammogram, Helene is your personal guide for communication with the healthcare team and the family, from diagnosis, surgery, reconstruction, after-care and survival. Our full breast care team, coordinated through Helene, is with you every step of the way. Contact: 207-283-7805.
