Belfast Public Health Nursing Association has provided health care and other critical support services to the most disadvantaged and vulnerable members of our community for over 100 years. Our mission is to provide prevention, education, early intervention, and referral services for local community members whose health and social needs are not met by other agencies or programs.
Compassionate care for our community
We provide a wide range of free services, such as:
- Help prevent infectious disease from spreading through education, providing treatment, holding community immunization clinics, and monitoring outbreaks
- Organize blood drives, health screenings, free flu shot clinics, blood pressure clinics and health fairs
- Share information with the community about a variety of health topics like substance use cessation, obesity risks, nutrition, stress reduction and exercise
- Work with schools to assist with resource management, food insecurity or oral health care
- Link people to needed health services and assuring the provision of health care when otherwise unavailable
- Work with local emergency management agencies and MaineHealth Waldo Hospital to prepare for and respond to emergencies
- Work with the community as a resource on acute and chronic illness
