Assertive Community Treatment

MaineHealth Behavioral Health provides assertive community treatment (ACT) services for people with significant behavioral health needs who are covered by MaineCare. The ACT program is based on national standards and is intended to prevent psychiatric hospitalization and criminal justice involvement.

ACT services provide a safe and confidential environment where patients can:

  • Receive intensive individual support and group therapy services
  • Be connected to resources in the community and help navigating the social service system
  • Benefit from a long-term commitment to care by a multidisciplinary team
  • Get help with housing, employment and finances

Multidisciplinary, community-based, behavioral health care
