What is a home health aide?

Home health aides help people with activities of daily living, such as bathing, dressing and eating. They support a better quality of life for patients and their families. Often their help allows older adults who need assistance to stay independent in their homes.

Home health aides must complete certification and training to be employed by a home health agency receiving Medicaid or Medicare reimbursements. Education includes supervised experience and passing an exam.
