What is medical oncology?
Medical oncology is a critical component in modern cancer care. Oncologists play an important role in care plan development, managing therapies as well as coordinating care among other cancer specialists who focus on prevention, treatment, and clinical trials.
What is hematology?
Hematologists are specifically trained in the diagnosis and treatment of blood disorders. This includes conditions affecting red and white blood cells, platelets, lymph nodes, bone marrow, blood vessels, and the spleen.
Seamless Care Coordination
MaineHealth Cancer Care provides radiation therapy, IV therapy, and blood disorder services, along with maintaining close communication with the patient’s primary care doctor and care team. Our practice coordinates needed care provided at other Southern Maine cancer care locations, including Portland, Scarborough, Sanford, Biddeford, and Bath.
